yeah ... i was skeptical
i knew that i'd paid into it my entire working life, as had all of my employers
and i've never understood why Republicans have always referred to Social Security as an "entitlement"
the sneers on their faces and the condescending tone of their voices always sounds like "handout" to me
so i looked up the word
by definition, an entitlement is a government program that guarantees and provides benefits to a particular group
that is not a bad thing
a separate tax FUNDS the Social Security program
it does NOT add to the national debt and the federal government HAS BEEN using it for other crap
by borrowing against it
still skeptical?
i Duck Duck Go'ed it
Google gave the same results
and now Elon Musk and his teenie-weinie-bopper minions have hacked the database!!!
will there be a silver wave of protest?
prolly not - till your next check bounces
or doesn't magically show up in your bank account
or does show up and then disappears via federal clawback ...
I would of liked to have joined the protests on Monday but I had to be at that stupid company meeting. I am starting to educate myself about the impending government shutdown on March 15. Democrats will have to agree with whatever pumpkin head wants the budget to be to keep the government open or be the "bad" guys and use this opportunity to shut it down to keep things from getting worse. Another mess to look forward to. I did get my February SS deposit; not holding my breath for March's deposit. I have a sperate account just for electronic deposits. I take most of the money out of it so if my info gets into the hands of EM's minions, there isn't much to take and it's password protected so good luck wasting their time trying to hack that for less than fifty bucks! LOL!!
ReplyDeleteI simply cannot wrap my head around how terrified seniors must be over the impending loss of what, for many, is their primary source of income. It's something that's impossible to fathom.
