upgrade

Auntia wanted a new scarf to go with her new plaid jacket...

a new crocheted scarf...

a fancy shmancy new crocheted scarf...

and she wanted it before the end of winter...

when she showed me a picture of the fancy shmancy new crocheted scarf that she wanted before the end of winter
i rolled my eyes and shrugged...

so she made it herself...
not for beginners, nosiree!!!

she is now officially upgraded from beginner to intermediate crochet skill level in the World According to Me...

Auntia adapted the pattern Liffy in a Jiffy from the book Contemporary Celtic Crochet by Bonnie Barker and used Glacier Lion Brand Heartland yarn...

and when i told her that i'm waiting for her to make a  fancy shmancy new crocheted scarf  before the end of winter for me
she rolled her eyes and shrugged...

People seldom do things to the best of their ability. They do things to the best of their willingness.

dinosaur tracks

Super Sam takes naps here and he needed a quilt of his own...

he wanted dinosaurs on his quilt...

 not cartoony-little-kid dinosaurs, though...

he wanted dinosaurs that look like the Real Thing...

and he wanted dinosaur tracks like we saw at Dinosaur Ridge...

so this is what he got...
Super Sam and Dinosaur Tracks
and this is what he does with it...

how does he sleep all scrunched up like that?!?

awww!!!

Dinosaur Tracks was made using the pattern Grand Stand from Mountain Peak Creations with a Northcott Stonehenge Kids Prehistoric panel and striped fabric that was everywhere a year ago and just about nowhere now
and was quilted with dinosaur tracks by Liz Bowman of Milan, Michigan

People who say they sleep like a baby usually don't have one.

boney maroney

massdrop is a very, very bad habit to get into - it's not like i don't have enough trouble with impulse buying - it is so very easy to hit the commit button and then forget about it till i get the package and wonder what the h-e-double-hockey-sticks i was thinking?!?
and that is exactly what happened when a fat quarter bundle for Chillingsworth's Bicycle Race was offered...
this one is for Traveling Man...
i can see right through you
the pattern is adapted from Grand Stand by Mountain Peak Creations
and the quilting (old bicycles - so cool) is by Liz Bowman in Milan, Michigan

there was a bunch of fabric leftover from the bundle that i knew i would never, never, EVER use, so i pieced all of it together for the backing...

all yall are outta here

and i'll be happy to see HIM leave the premises...

Boney Maroney and Peggy Sue
got the rockin' pneumonia
got the boogie woogie flu, hey

today

was a snow day...

and i found myself pondering
yes, pondering - in public, no less
if beauty really IS in the eye of the beholder...
beautiful or ugly?
beautiful or ugly?
beautiful or ugly?

i  know what i think ... what do YOU think?!?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it may be necessary from time to time to give the beholder a punch in the eye.
