i dunno why this has been so difficult...

my new sign for No Kings 3 needs to look like lava  and i don't know how to do that with poster board or pizza boxes, so i found some fabric that might pass for lava 

then i had to draft paper-pieced letters cuz i am allergic to the A word

 (the A word is applique and it makes me break out in itches just to type it)

and then i had to redraft the letters cuz i forgot that paper-piecing is reversed...

anywho, the letters were FINALLY done and ready to lay out...

Melissa said that this way is confusing cuz onen and cdrg aren't words

 i said what the heck are you talking about?!? 

oh. so, do you ALWAYS read left to right and NEVER top to bottom?

 huh ... well ... alrighty then

and that this way makes more sense

and i said oh ... okay ... i see it if i squint but LAVA doesn't shout like it needs to

so she moved the little letters

 and we both agreed that it was better but maybe not great 

so i sewed the little letters together cuz they were no fun to move and move and move and messed with them some more

and it stopped being fun - time to commit

 

yeah, i think this is gonna be okay

anywho... 

for some perspective, that NO ice block is 6" by 6" and even knowing  what i know i find it hard to believe that it took an entire week in the magick shoppe to get this far...
