block seventeen of 150 Canadian Women is called Spider and is dedicated to Leila Wightman
Reading about her brought to mind that I grew up without a dial phone....we had the old fashioned wooden one that hung on the wall and shared a 'party line' with several neighbours. We had to turn a crank on the side of the phone to alert the operator that we needed to place a call. The design of this block is somehow fitting.
