it's a paper chain - like the kind i used to make for the christmas tree when i was a kid (cut from construction paper and pasted together with paste that smelled like wintergreen Life Savers - it didn't taste like it smelled, lemmetellya)
this one is a countdown chain
the top links are for the months
and the bottom links are for the days of the current month
cuz it sucks having to wait 20
then 28
then 31
then 30 days
and so on
till a month link can be slashed off
gotta hold onto little joys that add up to big joys
*edited to add that Melissa does the cutting, taping and assembly ... because she loves me and because she knows that i struggle with impending doom on a daily basis*
